Terms of Service

These Terms define the rules, rights, limits, and responsibilities tied to the use of Modulus across the website, dashboard, documentation, and Discord-connected systems.

Last updated: March 22, 2026

Acceptance of These Terms

These Terms of Service govern access to and use of Modulus, including the Discord bot, dashboard, website, documentation, moderation systems, hosted tools, and any connected control surfaces or support pages made available under the Modulus name. By inviting the bot, logging into the dashboard, configuring settings, executing commands, or otherwise using any part of the service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

If you use Modulus on behalf of a server owner, staff team, business, community, organization, or other entity, you represent and warrant that you have the authority to bind that person or entity to these Terms. If you do not have that authority, or if you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the service.

Eligibility and Platform Compliance

You must be eligible to use Discord and any related platform features required for Modulus to function. You agree to comply at all times with Discord's Terms of Service, Community Guidelines, developer policies, and any platform rules that apply to bot use, moderation, automation, or server management.

You may not use Modulus in any way that would cause a violation of Discord policy, local law, international law, intellectual property law, privacy law, or any rule governing your server or community. If Discord or any competent authority restricts or forbids your use of the service, you must stop using it immediately.

Service Description

Modulus is a server operations platform designed to support moderation, safety review, automation, role management, analytics, reporting, logging, staff oversight, and configuration workflows for Discord communities. Features may include moderation actions, automated safeguards, dashboards, runtime controls, message tools, applications, status pages, review flows, and supporting documentation.

The service may evolve over time. Features, commands, thresholds, layouts, systems, availability, data structures, interfaces, and workflows may be updated, replaced, limited, or removed at any time for security, stability, maintenance, design, policy, legal, or product reasons.

Limited License

Subject to these Terms, a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license is granted to use Modulus solely for its intended purpose in Discord servers you are authorized to manage or moderate. This license does not transfer ownership, source rights, resale rights, trademark rights, hosting rights, or commercialization rights of any kind.

This license exists only for lawful use of the live service. It does not grant permission to copy the codebase, reproduce the dashboard, clone workflows, mirror documentation, or build derivative products based on the service.

Ownership and Intellectual Property

Modulus and all related materials are proprietary. This includes, without limitation, the source code, architecture, database design, dashboard structure, moderation flows, automation logic, models, heuristics, settings layout, visual design, branding, naming, writing, copy, documentation, icons, assets, and trade dress associated with the service.

All rights, title, and interest in and to Modulus remain exclusively with the owner of the service, except for third-party materials that remain the property of their respective owners. Nothing in these Terms grants any implied right, license, waiver, or transfer of ownership.

Strict Restrictions

Without prior express written permission, you may not copy, reproduce, republish, archive, mirror, scrape, leak, resell, sublicense, white-label, rent, lease, distribute, reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, modify, adapt, translate, train on, extract from, or create derivative or substantially similar services, dashboards, products, bots, websites, layouts, or moderation systems from Modulus.

You may not copy protected design elements, interface structures, feature flows, command guides, documentation text, internal logic, moderation pipelines, or any substantial portion of the code, presentation, or user experience. Unauthorized copying or imitation may result in access revocation, takedown requests, legal demands, damages claims, injunctive relief, and any other remedies available under applicable law.

Acceptable Use

You may use Modulus only for legitimate server management, moderation, administration, and automation purposes. You may not use the service to harass, stalk, threaten, impersonate, scam, exploit, spam, defraud, or otherwise harm users, communities, or third parties.

You may not use Modulus to facilitate abusive enforcement, unlawful surveillance, malicious automation, coordinated harassment, platform evasion, credential theft, phishing, or any conduct designed to destabilize Discord servers or connected systems.

You may not probe, attack, bypass, overload, stress-test, or interfere with the service, its APIs, its control routes, or its infrastructure except where expressly allowed in writing for security testing.

Server and Administrator Responsibility

You remain solely responsible for your server rules, moderation decisions, automation behavior, configured thresholds, role access, staff permissions, logs, templates, and operational policies. Modulus provides tools, but it does not take over legal or community responsibility for how those tools are used.

If you enable moderation automations, AI-assisted review systems, punishment actions, or logging flows, you are responsible for reviewing their output, deciding whether they fit your server, and adjusting settings when needed. You are also responsible for the actions of staff members you authorize to use the dashboard or in-server controls.

Automated Systems and Moderation Decisions

Modulus may evaluate content, events, patterns, or configuration context to generate safety signals, staff alerts, moderation suggestions, enforcement actions, analytics, and review items. These tools are operational assistance systems. They are not legal advice, not human judgment, and not guarantees of accuracy in every case.

You understand that automated systems may produce false positives, false negatives, delayed signals, incomplete context, or risk scores that require human review. You agree that any server action taken with or through these systems remains the responsibility of the server and its administrators.

Dashboard Access, Sessions, and Security

Access to certain features depends on Discord authentication, permission checks, and session controls. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Discord account, any linked devices, your staff access model, and any systems or webhooks you connect to Modulus.

Any dashboard action performed through an authenticated account may be treated as authorized by that account holder. You must notify the service owner promptly if you believe there has been unauthorized access, credential compromise, or misuse tied to your account or server.

Feedback, Suggestions, and Submissions

If you submit feedback, bug reports, improvement ideas, previews, screenshots, test content, or feature suggestions, you grant permission to review, store, adapt, implement, reproduce, and use those submissions for product, support, documentation, or development purposes without compensation, confidentiality obligations, or attribution requirements, unless a separate written agreement says otherwise.

You should not submit confidential, export-controlled, third-party proprietary, or legally restricted material unless you are fully authorized to do so.

Availability and Service Changes

Modulus is provided on an 'as is' and 'as available' basis. Availability, uptime, latency, accuracy, compatibility, and uninterrupted service are not guaranteed. Downtime, outages, delays, feature regressions, Discord-side changes, infrastructure incidents, or third-party failures may affect the service at any time.

The service owner may change, suspend, throttle, maintain, or discontinue any feature or part of the service at any time, with or without notice, where reasonably necessary for operations, security, compliance, or product direction.

Suspension and Termination

Access to Modulus may be suspended, restricted, or permanently terminated at any time if use is abusive, harmful, illegal, infringing, destabilizing, fraudulent, or otherwise inconsistent with these Terms or with platform policy.

You may stop using Modulus at any time by removing the bot from your server and discontinuing use of the dashboard and related services. Termination does not automatically erase all historical operational records, backups, or logs immediately.

Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Modulus is provided without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise. This includes, without limitation, implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, uninterrupted availability, and error-free operation.

No recommendation, example, guide, preview, statement, or support message creates any warranty unless expressly stated in a signed written agreement.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service owner and any affiliates, operators, licensors, contractors, or contributors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, punitive, or loss-based damages arising from or related to the use of Modulus. This includes loss of data, loss of moderation history, loss of server access, reputational harm, business interruption, loss of revenue, loss of goodwill, or configuration mistakes.

If liability is imposed despite the foregoing limitations, liability will be limited to the smallest amount permitted by applicable law.

Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the service owner, operators, affiliates, licensors, contractors, and contributors from and against any claim, dispute, demand, liability, loss, damage, judgment, penalty, cost, and expense, including reasonable legal costs, arising out of or relating to your server, your content, your staff, your use of the service, or your violation of these Terms, Discord policy, or applicable law.

Changes to These Terms

These Terms may be updated from time to time. When changes are made, the revised Terms become effective when published unless a later effective date is stated. Continued use of the service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
